The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, also known as the Great Mosque Of Cordoba or Mezquita-Catedral de Cordoba, is a historic Islamic Mosque in the Cordoba city of Spain that was converted into a Christian Cathedral in 1236, after the conquest of the city by King Ferdinand III of Castile. This historical event led to a major change in the site’s religious history, which was soon followed by some major alterations in the architecture of the structure as well.
Needless to say, today, the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba stands as a symbol of the unique blend of culture of the two religions and their architectural work. The UNESCO World Heritage Site is a significant attraction in the city, and it attracts tourists and visitors from all over the world.
